That will vary dependent on the size of the room and the amount of storage you require. A typical office filing mobile installation with 3 mobile bases could be as little as £3000.00 installed replacing 20 x 4 drawer filing cabinets
Is the mobile base difficult to move?
Very little effort is required. A single mobile base has gearing fitted so that the effort required is around 2 kg ( just like lifting a typical bag of sugar) of effort when fully loaded to get it started and a lot less once its moving and has momentum.
Will I get hurt operating the system?
Each of the bases has Push button locking devices fitted so that as each aisle is opened and before walking into it to gain access the locking buttons are pushed in on bases either side. Thus preventing anyone from accidently closing the opened aisle by mistake.
Will it be too dark between the aisles?
Storwell makes sure all of the available head height is utilised leaving around 200mm clear for air circulation. We recommend that the lighting above is continues and runs 90 degrees to the direction of the mobile bases so that wherever an aisle is opened there is always light shining directly down.
Is there any danger of bases tipping over?
All of our mobile systems have integrated anti-tilt restraint devices fitted to the underside of the bases which run in channels set within the tracks.
In addition where it is felt advisable due to the height to width ratio we have designed a special overhead system provides added peace of mind.
What is the typical Payback period for the System?
This will depend on the value of the stock located and the space rental costs of the premises in which the Mobile system is installed.
We however have found in general that a 3 to 5 year payback period to be typical to anticipate.
What happens if it needs to be moved?
No Problem. Even if it is not one of Storwell's we have the experience and resources to dismantle, check over and repair if required any components before arranging the transportation and then the re- installation.
Storwell have successfully moved well over a 100 within the UK and even abroad.
Can I add or reconfigure the system?
Yes. Most of the installations are able to be dismantled into their sub component form allowing them to be packed onto pallets or trolleys and then transported to their new location.
Our engineers and the factory can fabricate or we can source any extra shelving or components that are required to achieve the new configuration wanted.
What is the Minimum space for the opening aisle between the mobile bases?
We recommend 900mm to 1000mm which gives good access and a reasonable spread of light from overhead. This can be reduced if you prefer but we suggest that 700mm would be the minimum.
How many bases can be moved at any one time?
Although it is possible to move more than one base at a time this is not recommended and not what the system was designed to do.
Good practice and with Health and Safety in mind is to move only one base at a time having checked to make sure that the aisle to be closed is clear first.
Can the system be made to be secure to casual entry?
Yes. We have a key locking device which locks the drive mechanism in place.
Access can therefore be restricted to all or part of the mobile system to the key holders only if required. Keys can be individual and different for each base or be matched the same.
More sophisticated electronic devices can be fitted with our electric mobile systems to record and restrict access to the installed system.
