BBC – Film and Tape storage

Archive media and tape storage system
The BBC have been specifying and purchasing tape and film archive library shelving systems from Storwell Systems for over 25 years.
The BBC Written archives in Reading, BBC Sound archives and many of the regions including Manchester and Bristol all have Storwell Systems high density mobile systems installed to archive and hold collections of videotape and film.
The most recent order was for the BBC in Bristol the Natural History Unit and their regional tapes.

Originally installed in the 1980’s Storwell Systems have been asked back ever since to add to or reconfigure the shelving to suit the changing formats and new requirements of the corporation. We took out some of the older racks and bays of shelving that were designed to store very large 35mm film cans replacing them with much thinner and slimmer mobile bases with shelving design to take Beta video tape.

Storwell Systems offer a free design and planning service so that you can maximise the space you have to store archive materials in order to get the greatest capacity and have fast easy access.
